- Press Convert and download the JPGs.
About this tool
PNG files can be surprisingly heavy, especially screenshots and photos. Converting to JPG usually cuts the size dramatically, which helps with email limits, website speed and upload forms.
Because JPG cannot store transparency, any see-through area is filled with the background colour you pick, white by default. Sharp text and thin lines can pick up slight fuzziness at low quality settings, so keep the slider high for screenshots. To aim for an exact file size, use Compress Image.
Good to know
- Transparent areas become a solid colour.
- JPG is lossy. Very low quality settings create visible artefacts around text.
- Up to 50 images at once.
PNG to JPG: frequently asked questions
What happens to transparent parts of my PNG?
They are filled with the background colour you choose, white by default, because JPG has no transparency.
What quality should I use?
85 to 92 percent looks almost identical for most images while saving a lot of space.
Is PNG to JPG reversible?
No. JPG discards some detail permanently, so keep your original PNG if you may need it.
